Marrs receive award for service

4/09/2008 10:50:00 AM
Hiram and Kate Marr were presented with a special award in recognition of 13 years of service to Nyngan Junior Soccer at the club’s presentation on Sunday.

The Marr’s youngest child, Sally, has played her final season this year, capping off a continual stretch of coaching, managing, fundraising and being on the executive for Hiram and Kate.

Current president and senior team coach Brian Bonello was also recognised with the special club person of the year award for his efforts both on and off the field.

Junior soccer has enjoyed tremendous growth in recent years with registrations doubling, mostly because of the hard work done by parent volunteers.

Club vice president Richard Hoare was commended for his tireless work refereeing and coaching, as were the five team coaches Ron Collins, Jenny and Mark Griffiths, Stuart Rufus, Emily Glason and Brian Bonello.

Managers Victoria Boag, Di Dunn, Nicole Donnelly, Tammy Gillespie, Bec Harriss, Jocelyn King, and Hiram Marr were also thanked.
