Fran and Marcia strike up top form

2/10/2008 12:30:00 PM
After a day of playing bowls, which we all enjoyed, it was back to the little green mat at the senior’s rooms for the carpet bowlers.

The first game went to Myrtle and Maureen 9-5 from Bill and Margaret.

The next game was much closer when Marcia and Fran beat Pam and Jean 6-5.

In the next game Pam and Gwen were drawn out to play Jean and Bill and this time Pam and Gwen played much better to beat Jean and Bill 13-8.

The play-off saw Fran and Marcia bring Myrtle and Maureen down to earth from their first round win, beating them 8-0, then they went on to beat Pam and Gwen 7-1.

Marcia was the lucky door winner.

The following week we were down a couple of players, but there were some very close scores.

First up Dorothy and Bill beat Jean and Pam 7-4, up next was Myrtle and Maureen who played against Fran and Margaret and won 8-4.

The final saw Myrtle and Maureen, who have played a lot together, win 4-2 from Dorothy and Bill. Jean won the door prize.

Carpet bowls seniors is played on Thursday afternoons at 1.45pm.

It’s the most fun you can have for 50 cents.
