Thursday September 4 is the day we go to the Bowling Club for our first game of lawn bowls, with a 1.30pm start. The bowls ladies are going to play with us to show how it’s done.

We have invited the ladies to the Seniors Citizens room for a game of carpet bowls in the next couple of weeks, so keep an eye on the carpet bowls news to see how we go.

Two weeks ago Gwen and Margaret were drawn out together again and they are hard to beat when this happens. They beat Fran and Olive 9 to 6.

Next up was Pam and Maureen who beat Myrtle and Jean 11 to 6, so they were all set to win the final but were outclassed by Margaret and Gwen 7 to 1. Bill won the door prize. Last week the editor was away but she found out Gwen was pleased because her name wouldn’t make the paper for something she did. Fran and Jean beat Dorothy and Olive 11 to 5, the trip Dorothy took up to Darwin must have left her tired. Pam and Gwen beat Bill and Margaret 12 to two. Pam and Gwen won the final over Fran and Jean 4 to 1. That was Pam’s first win, she even won the door prize.
