 Great day for netballers

Great day for netballers

18/09/2008 1:12:00 PM
What a great day of netball was had for all our Nyngan teams making it to the grand finals. Unfortunatley everyone can’t be winners and to those teams who were runners-up you all played really well and were a credit to your coaches and to all those who watched fantastic games of netball.

The day began with our nervous little U10 team. Being their very first grand final, there were going to be some butterflies. Coming up against a very slick Baradine side didn’t help either. It wasn’t the fairytale ending for these girls but I strongly believe, with most of them playing in this team again next year, they will be the team to watch. To Amy, Sharmaine, Millie, Britt, Kaneesha, Brooke, Abbey, Kiarah, Samantha, Tamika and Taleah, you should be very proud of yourselves for making it to the grand final and giving it everything you had. Thank you to Jackie and Bruce for your weekly guidance of these girls (that in itself was a huge job) and for your encouragement to the girls throughout the year.

The Under 14s came in as the underdogs - but they still gave their opposition everything they had. As many of this team were new to the game, it was great to see you come together throughout the year and you truly deserved to be there on Saturday. You and your coach defiantly put the hard work in. Coonabarabran had height on their side and made good use of that in the goal circles. With coach Marty’s positive talks during the breaks, the girls fought on but eventually went down to Coona. Marty Carthew’s team includes Tayla Dunn, Tayla Martin, Delma Bartlett, Amy Ah-See, Sheenah Lition, Demi Jeffery-Hawley, Carla Wright and Imogen Wardman.
