Scholars in collars set to benefit from working dog school

10/07/2008 11:11:00 AM
On Saturday and Sunday July 19 and 20 a working dog school will be held in Nyngan for all those interested in gaining the most out of their stock dogs.

In a farm situation, the old adage “man’s best friend” certainly rings true as any person with a great dog will tell you. A good working dog can save hours in time and running around - ask any wife who has had to muster sheep without a dog and she will tell you.

The school will be run by local handler Gary White who, along with his father John, has made a name for himself in stock dog trials all over Australia.

Gary has many years of experience with working dogs and has been asked by the American Working Dog Association to run a school in Seattle USA in October and judge the American National Trial as well.

This is a wonderful honour and testimony to the high regard they hold for Gary and his skill in teaching and working dogs.

Anyone interested in coming along and learning all about skills for teaching pups up to grown working dogs is welcome.

To book your place and for more details please call 0428 679 503 or 6832 2952.
