Nyngan Show Society held it’s annual general meeting on September 18 with an exceptionally good attendance and all showing a high degree of enthusiasm for our 2009 show.
It is hoped the season changes dramatically.
The meeting was held in the Bowler’s Bar of the RSL Club and was opened by outgoing president, Peter Dutton.
Apologies were accepted, minutes confirmed and signed and this was followed by the treasurer’s report, which showed our society to be in a very healthy position financially.
Thanks must go to Malcolm Menzies for the wonderful job he has done despite his health problems.
Peter then presented his report thanking all workers over the past two years of his reign as president.
Election of office bearers then followed and the chair was taken for this by Ray Donald, who prior to calling for nominations gave thanks to Peter and Fiona for their work and dedication to the show over the past two years.
Election of office bearers was as follows:
o President: Vernette Gibson.
o Vice-presidents Philip Gibson, Peter Dutton, Chris Elder, (prior to his acceptance).
o Treasurer: Malcolm Menzies.
o Secretary: Louise Wass.
o Safety officers: Charles Armstrong, Richard Woodlock.
o Publicity officer: Mary Dutton.
o Membership secretary: Melanie Cameron at Landmark.
o Delegates to Western Group: Malcolm Menzies and Richard Woodlock.
All section stewards to be re-elected unless advised otherwise.
Sue Buggy will replace Marina Linke in their section.
This concluded the annual general meeting.
New president Vernette then took the chair and had a very short meeting during which she gave mention to the passing of very good show member Gwen Harper.
A discussion was then held regarding show schedules, and a committee consisting of the president, secretary, Fiona Tucker and Donna Pumper was elected to give some thought to different types of schedules.
They will bring this information to the next meeting which will be on October 23.
At this meeting ideas will be called for regarding our Christmas party. All come along with your thoughts.
Thanks must go to Vernette and Louise for taking on the positions, I know they are both very enjoyable ones.
See you all on October 23.
