Police investigating the supply and distribution of prohibited drugs executed a search warrant at a Nyngan house last Wednesday. A narcotics detection dog was used, resulting in the seizure of drugs and ammunition.
Any house or car used for the distribution of drugs has the potential to be confiscated as ‘tainted property’ and sold. Investigations are continuing.
Four arrest warrants were issued for a Ballarat man when he failed to appear at Cobar Local Court in July 2007. He had avoided capture for a year but was caught by Nyngan police in Tabratong Street last Thursday.
The man was remanded into custody pending a court appearance next month.
Five teenagers were apprehended trespassing in the former Nyngan District Hospital last week and were dealt with under the Young Offenders Act. Parents are asked to advise their children that the location is ‘off limits’ and that anyone found at the location may be prosecuted.
