CWA celebrates birthday

4/09/2008 10:46:00 AM
On Monday August 18 Nyngan CWA celebrated their 85th birthday with 22 members gathering at the Outback Motel for lunch.

This celebration started with President Betty Jackson asking Glad Eldridge to say grace, which she did with the most appropriate words. After this we all felt relaxed and enjoyed a delightful luncheon.

Patron Jean Giles cut the cake which had been beautifully made and decorated by Glad Eldridge.

In a happy manner we all sang Happy Birthday followed by Why Were We Born So Beautiful.

President Betty read a brief outline of our Nyngan club history. This was most interesting.

The faces of two of our most stalwart members, treasurer Edna Jaques, life member Betty Crichton were missed due to illness and we hope to see you both back soon.

There was much friendly chatter and a pleasant cuppa before members started drifting off.

This ended a most informal and happy day that will be remembered for years to come.
