The Coolabah Goat Races have been held once again, drawing a great crowd of about 600 to 700 people.
The day started out with great weather and the sun tearing up the sky as the goats tore up the track.
The biggest seller at the goat auction was number 4 Bogan Boy who was purchased by team Regulators for a whopping $450.
The average price paid on the day was $300.
In the final goat race of the day the Coolabah Goat Co Cup was taken out by number 9 Weber Ramsey owned by Byrock Hotel.
Once again the tug-o-wars and dog high jumps seemed to be great crowd pleasers.
The junior boys tug-o-war was won by The Bush Boys who defeated The Aldi Boys.
In the junior girls event The Mighty Six defeated The Cowgirls.
Nyngan Bitches defeated The Handbrakes in the final of the ladies tug-o-war.
In the men’s event the Regulators defeated City Country in the final.
Matt Self and his dog ‘TJ’ put in a good performance to win the dog high jump.
Winners of the Coolabah Goat Race raffles were Jean Dunn of Coolabah who won the fridge and Danielle Redmond from Brewarrina who took home the jacket donated by Chris Redmond Transport.
The day ended with Black Feet playing into the night with a huge bonfire keeping everyone warm.
Thanks to Bruce Barrow of Nyngan who kindly donated his time to be the auctioneer and spokesperson on the day.
Thanks also to major sponsors of the day Coolabah Goat Co, Wellington Club House Fishing Club and Wellington Club House Social Club.
The success of the day , however, belongs to all the locals, friends and family who jumped in to give a hand on the day and lead-up up to the great event.
Without them the occasion would not have been as successful as it was.
