Each meeting of CWA seems to have more to report than the previous one.
President Betty was very pleased to see so many attend the July meeting and thanked Di and Hazel for preparing the afternoon so well.
Next on the list is the July council meeting in Cobar on July 29 - four members will be attending.
Bourke evening branch will be holding the trading table and members are asked to send something for it to councillors Jean or Edna.
An important date in August will be Nyngan’s 85th birthday to be held on August 18 at the Sundowner Motel.
Cost is $25 and members wishing to attend are asked to hand their names and money to our treasurer at the August 1 meeting.
Following that the combined cultural international and agricultural meeting will be at Enngonia on August 23.
A bus will come from Trangie on August 22, stay in Bourke overnight and continue on to Enngonia the next day.
Other Nyngan dates are the branch International Day for schools on September 16 and a visit from State president Margaret Roberts on September 29.
So there - you know what lies ahead.
Returning to last Friday, Margaret reported that the children’s book reading was going slowly.
International Officer Mary gave interesting information on Mexico.
Marie Carter presented a poem she had composed entitled The Barbecue.
Marie then went on to win the two raffles.
