A great gathering of families and friends from Nyngan and surrounding towns came together in the park on Tuesday May 5 to farewell a fond local friend Beryl Sysma.
Beryl has been a wonderful and much loved community member and is leaving Nyngan and the Bogan Bush Mobile after seven and a half years of dedicated service.
There was a great gathering of bush mobile families and friends from Nyngan and surrounding towns.
Children had fun on the jumping castle, playing on the equipment, face painting by Simone, and enjoying mouth watering sausage sandwiches by Nikki.
Beryl has bought a lot of fun into the bush mobile and made time for the children they will never forget. Who can ever forget Sparkles the Clown, or the creative balloon sculptures at school fetes and the Nyngan Show.
In addition to mobile duties Beryl has been actively involved with the Nyngan Child and Family Support Group for many years and has played a major role in organising and participating in activities. Members of the group said goodbye and wished Beryl well at a meeting on Thursday May 7.
Beryl has also been an outstanding member on the Home-Start Management Committee for five years and the team will miss all that she brought to the organisation.
“It has been a pleasure to work alongside Beryl who is always bright and cheerful, always willing to give a hand. Beryl’s leaving the district leaves a huge void. You will be missed. We wish you every success and happiness in your new venture,” the Chairperson said.
Beryl will be starting her new position on the Port Stephen’s Activity Van based at Raymond Terrace and servicing the Port Stephen’s Shire.
Beryl is sad to be leaving Nyngan.
“My time here has been fantastic, I have really enjoyed working on the mobile with great staff and wonderful families. I will miss Nyngan and the friends I have made,” Beryl said.
Simone and Nikki from the Mobile wish Beryl all the best for her future and hope she will never forget Nyngan and returns to visit often.
Good Luck Beryl.
